So if you want to hit the Malibu Beach, a desert in Abu Dhabi, a rooftop in New York or the top of Horseshoe Mountain, we’re down if you are.
Engagement/Couples Sessions default to 2 hours when scheduling, however the actual time we will be shooting varies by location and what we’re doing. If we’re staying within one general location or neighborhood, your session will most likely last an hour, maybe an hour and a half. Want to hit a few of your favorite hometown hangouts? Your session may last up to 2 hours, if there is some drive time. It all depends on what you’d like captured and how long you want to be “on”, but generally plan to be at your engagement session for a minimum of one-hour.
To take advantage of the best natural lighting of the day, outdoor engagement sessions are scheduled so that they end around sunset. If you would like to shoot most of your engagement session indoors, please email me prior to booking for a time frame that works better for indoor lighting.

And of course, we’ll will be guiding you every step of the way with non-invasive creative direction and lots of conversations about food, because is there really anything more important. Um no.

Q// How would you describe your photography style?
I shoot/edit with feeling in mind. Feeling, vibe, essence, aura, whatever you call it, thats what I aim to capture. It's easy to capture what we see, but what about what we can’t see? Storytelling is about more than just the what, its about the why as well. My photography can be categorized as moody over light and airy; documentary rather than fine art; lifestyle instead of traditional. I like my images to reflect real. I play with shadows. I capture tiny details that you may not even notice. I shoot the way I feel someone would want to remember.
Q// How do I become your client?!
Schedule a discovery chat (if necessary), choose the session that works for you, pay your retainer and then add yourself to the schedule. Retainers are non-refundable.
Q// How far in advance do I need to book?
I would suggest scheduling your session about 8-12 weeks in advance. I usually cannot squeeze in clients within that time period.
Q// Do you bring your own lighting when shooting indoors?
Yes, I prefer naturally well-lit indoor locations, but always bring lighting equipment in case the location is darker than anticipated.
Q// I know I will need more than 2 hours for my session, can I add more time?
Yes, you may purchase additional hours at $325/hr. I can’t guarantee that I can add on additional hours after you’ve booked your session, so it is suggested that you make this request at the time of booking.
Q// I think I know a date that might work for my photo session/virtual meeting. Can you hold it for me while I double check some things?
No, so hurry back :)
Q// How do I prep for my photo session?
You will receive a Session Prep Guide that explains tips on location, vibe, hair, makeup, wardrobe, what to do with your hands, etc.
Q// I scheduled a session for Atlanta but now I want to meet you somewhere else, is that ok?
Based on availability, you may purchase a travel fee to change your location. A rescheduling fee may also be required for sessions less than 21 days out.
Q// Will you retouch my images, remove my wrinkles, erase my pimples, make me skinnier, etc?
Basic blemish removal is included in the base rate. After you receive your images, for more in depth retouching such as wrinkle removal (on face or clothes), smoothing out of makeup, bags under your eye, red eye, teeth whitening, fixing wayward hair strands and curls, etc. can be completed at $20 per image. You will be invoiced before retouching begins.
Your body type, chin, arms, etc will not be photoshopped to turn you into another person. Also its cringy for you to ask. Love the skin you’re innnn <3
Q// What is your travel fee?
My travel fee is $500 for Georgia, outside Metro Atlanta, $2000 for Continental U.S. locations and minimum $4000 for everywhere else (based on location). Travel fees are non-negotiable and per every 2 nights required.
Q// What if I have to re-schedule my photo session?
Rescheduling requests require a $425 fee. Re-scheduled sessions must be completed within the same calendar year of the original session date or all credits will be lost and you will need to re-book your session at the current rate.
Q// What if you have to re-schedule my photo session?
It is rare that I re-schedule sessions, however I do reserve the right to re-schedule your session. In the event that I do need to re-schedule your session (for example: act of god, health issue, a government shelter-in-place order, it is not safe to get to you, etc), I will notify you via email with as much advance notice as I possibly can. Your session will be re-scheduled at no additional fee.
Q// I purchased an Associate Photographer package but I’d like to shoot with you instead, will you come?
You may upgrade your photo session to shoot with me instead of an Associate Photographer, based on availability.
Q// If I want to shoot in a location that requires a parking fee, admission ticket, boat ride, plane ticket, overnight stay, etc does your base rate include that?
No; out of the ordinary additional payments needed to fulfill your photography dreams are not already included in my base rate. So for example if you want me to meet you at ABC Botanical Gardens and the ticket fee is $20 you would be responsible for purchasing my ticket. If you want me to meet you anywhere where parking would be more than $5, you would be responsible for covering my parking. If you live in New York but you want to shoot your branding session in Cabo, you would be responsible for covering my flight and hotel accommodations, etc.
Q// How long can I access my photo gallery after my session is over?
Your online gallery will be available for unlimited downloads for one calendar year from your session date. Be sure to download all of your photos prior to this date.
Q// I would be considered a high-profile/celebrity client, can you hold off on posting any of my images until they've been published to maintain exclusivity?
Please make this request prior to contract signing so that I can send you the appropriate contract.
Q// Do we get the copyrights to the images taken?
The standard image license allows you to digitally post, and print your images but copyright ownership is not transferable without an additional fee.
Q// What if a major brand I’m partnering with wants to use my photo? What if someone wants to print me in their book? What if a major brand wants to use my photo for one of their campaigns?
Due to copyright, third party companies are required to email hello@kelleyraye.com to request permission to use any photo I take, even if it’s of you. You may be required to purchase an additional usage license depending on the nature of use.
Q// Can I have the .RAW, unedited images? Can I have ALL the images?
My base rate covers high-resolution .JPGs edited in my signature style only. You will not receive every image taken during your session, you will receive the BEST images taken during your session. Unedited .JPGs will only be delivered if required by a major brand that you are partnering with (and you have purchased the necessary license).
.RAW images are not available for purchase.
Q// I’ve looked at your website and understand exactly how you edit your photos. Can you edit mine completely different than your usual editing style?
I will edit your images in my signature style (which may change over time). Please be sure that you love my style before you book. Once delivered, requests to edit your entire gallery in a look and feel different than my usual will require an editing fee of $750.
Q// How long will it take to receive my images?
2-4 weeks.
Q// What if I need my photos sooner?
You may purchase a rush order to receive images within 48 hours.
Q// What if I absolutely do not want you to post ANY of my images anywhere on the internet to assist you in booking future business?
Showing people pretty pictures is how I book new business, but if there is a major security issue in your personal life, let’s chat before you book.
