World: You can’t travel, you can’t gather with loved ones, and you can’t stand within 6 feet of another human you don’t live with.

Lizzie and Alex: Challenge accepted.

A week before Lizzie and Alex’s planned elopement in Utah, everything about the special day they had been planning changed. They went to the courthouse in hopes of at least getting their marriage license and being officially married by an officiant there. They were able to get their license, but unable to be married. After several doors closing and some well deserved time feeling all the feels, they decided a mini celebration was better than no celebration at all. They got dressed up, they cut their wedding cake, they read cards given to them by friends and family, and they popped champagne. The perfect end to the wedding week from hell, for both of us!

From Lizzie and Alex:

“We were supposed to get married at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah... I could write you a novel about our rollercoaster of emotions, the numerous back & forth cancellations and uncertainty about the next steps - But I won’t. I won’t because my family is healthy and right now that is all that matters. And damn it even though we didn’t get officially married, we celebrated yesterday in our home and it was special. We celebrated GOOD.”
