First wedding of the 2019 season was such a blast! Mithila and Jeremy got hitched at Eventide Brewing and yes, there was unlimited beer all night. I always love capturing fusion weddings, the combination of two different cultures coming together always makes for a super fun celebration!

from Mithila and Jeremy:

“We wanted a warm, intimate, fun-filled wedding that reflected both of us, our ideals and the different cultures we grew up in.

Since we were having an American wedding, we wanted to incorporate some parts of Indian culture into it such as the sarees Mithila and her mom are wearing and the traditional wedding ladoos (sweets) we will give to the guests as favors. We have a close friend who will be officiating the ceremony with tweaks to incorporate the 'mangalsutra' ceremony which is the traditional necklace that the bride wears as a sign of matrimony.

We're both designers, so we had a clear vision of some of the things we wanted and made several things ourselves for the wedding. Mithila worked on the story and all the details for the website: theknot.com/us/mithila-jeremy. Jeremy made all the stationery for the wedding such as the Save the Dates, Invitation Cards, Thank You notes and the coasters that we have as wedding favors. We both collaborated on ceramic vases as centerpieces for the reception, and we are giving these handmade vases as presents to close friends and family.

Succulents are a running theme throughout the wedding. We have succulents on the vases, on invitation cards and even on the cake topper. Actual succulents will be used in the bouquets, centerpieces and arbor which we will replant so we can watch them grow after the wedding.”
